Is she lying?
Jocelyn Wildenstein, the Swiss socialite known as “Catwoman” for her extensive plastic surgery, insists in a new interview that she has never had such a procedure — and even eschews Botox.
“I have not had plastic surgery,” the 84-year-old told The Sun Wednesday. “I’m afraid of what might happen and I don’t like having something heavy. Sometimes it’s a bit heavy and scary.”
It has long been assumed, due to her uncanny feline appearance, that Wildenstein was quite comfortable on a plastic surgeon’s operating table.
However, she told the media that she is a plastic surgery virgin – and even refuses to get any Botox after the injections gave her problems.
“I don’t like botox. Everyone has a different reaction to it,” she explained. “I’ve only had Botox twice. I don’t know if I’m allergic, but when I had it, it didn’t go well. It was not a good result. My face swelled up. whether [other women] I want to do it so hard, it doesn’t work well.”
Wildenstein also insisted that she never used any fillers.
“I have never had a filling. I have some friends who had fillers and were not happy.”
Wildenstein’s claims run counter to popular belief and apparent reality — as Wildenstein has had an increasingly distinguished and unnatural appearance as her decades in the public eye have passed.
Wildenstein divorced billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein in the late 1990s and has been a tabloid staple ever since due to her increasingly cat-like features.
She was said to have started face transmogrification because of her late ex-husband, who wanted her to look like a lynx, according to The Sun.
Photos of a younger Wildenstein show its stunning natural beauty.
A sharp jaw, full lips, high cheekbones, and an open, undaunted face are juxtaposed with her modern features.
Over the summer, she shared a photo on Instagram showing her before her drastic transformation, as she wished her daughter, Diane Wildenstein, a happy birthday.
A 1998 Vanity Fair article claimed the two Wildensteins were at odds throughout their high-profile marriage, which spiraled into a messy, public divorce in 1999.
The article claims that just a year after their 1978 wedding, the couple underwent his-and-hers eye lifts at Jocelyn’s behest.
“She was crazy,” Alec said at the time, according to the magazine.
“I would always be the last to find out. She was thinking she could arrange her face like a piece of furniture. Skin doesn’t work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.”
